Training Pathways

Every pilot’s journey is unique. Choosing the right training pathway is one of the most important steps in achieving a successful career in commercial aviation. Our Training Pathways hub provides a clear roadmap, helping aspiring pilots navigate options, requirements, and career progression opportunities.

Your Options

Integrated programmes are full-time, structured courses designed to take you from zero experience to a fully qualified commercial pilot. These courses are ideal for students seeking the fastest and most comprehensive route into airline operations.

Key Features:

  • Complete Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR) and Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) certification.

  • Airline-style syllabus, including multi-crew cooperation and simulator training.

  • Strong focus on industry standards, operational procedures, and safety.

  • Often includes ab-initio airline placement opportunities.

Ideal For: Those who are ready to commit to full-time training and want a direct path into commercial airline operations. However, this pathway does tend to require a large sum upfront or at least within a fairly short amount of time.

Integrated Training Programmes

Modular training allows students to progress step-by-step at their own pace, building experience and qualifications as their schedule and finances allow.

Key Features:

  • Start with a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), then progress through CPL, IR, MEP, and ultimately an ATPL (Frozen or Full).

  • Flexibility to combine training with work or other commitments.

  • Opportunities to train at different schools or flight clubs for specialised experience.

  • Emphasis on building hours and practical experience in real-world flying conditions.

Ideal For: Pilots who prefer flexibility, wish to balance training with other commitments, or want to gain experience incrementally. The modular route can often work out more affordable or at the least easier to finance with being able to spread it out over a longer period.

Other Training Programmes

There is another option, this being Airline Ab-Initio Programmes, some airlines are currently offering fully funded position on training courses at their dedicated flight schools. The training does tend follow the same process as the Integrated route, however the licenses you end up with at the end may differ.

Key Features:

  • Direct recruitment by partner airlines.

  • Structured pathway from licensing through to First Officer position.

  • Early exposure to airline operations, SOPs, and crew resource management.

  • Opportunities to fast-track into operational roles post-training.
